

He began his flying career in the RAF before leaving to become a civilian airline pilot. As a civil pilot he flew for a number of UK airlines including Britannia Airways, Air Europe, InterEuropean Airways, Airtours, My Travel Airways and Thomas Cook.
It was after the demise of Air Europe that he became involved in the Air Europe Pilots Register and subsequently became the part time unpaid manager of the Professional Pilots Register. Both organisations came under the auspices of the Department of Employment with the specific remit of assisting unemployed commercial airline pilots to secure employment.
When the Department of Employment appointed a paid full time manager he left and formed his own flight deck employment agency to place and assist pilots with employment. He also went into partnership to form Aviation Seminars which organised two events a year specifically designed to assist commercially qualified pilots gain employment.
He also worked for the GE Capital Training Scheme and Virtual Aviation to assist with preparing pilots for up and coming flight simulator assessments as part of an airlines recruitment process.
He is a member of the Expert Witness Institute and has undergone training with them and Bond Solon.

Following a career in the Royal Air Force he subsequently enjoyed a civil aviation career with two major UK airlines. He has held senior management posts, including that of Chief Training Captain and Flight Ops Manager for Operational and Training Standards. In addition, he is an active general aviation pilot, instructor and examiner flying historic and modern single-engine piston types.
Over a career spanning more than forty years Chris has amassed a total of more than 14,000 hours on a wide variety of aircraft types

His additional responsibilities with the airline include the role of training captain teaching the B737 type rating in the simulator and line pilot training.
Jonathan holds U.K., FAA and EASA licenses including instructor certificates and is an authorised examiner for both the U.K. CAA and EASA. As an active aviation consultant Jonathan has authored aviation technical manuals for training organisations, airlines, corporate operators and manufacturers.
During his career to date Jonathan has amassed a total of more than 12,000 hours on a wide variety of aircraft types. He has over 4,000 hours as pilot in command with greater than 2,000 hours of flying instructional experience.
